Where it all began

Nigel Faulkner and Christopher Friend began their hairdressing business back in 1990. The original salon was located in Oving Road, Chichester.

The inspiration for the company name came from the two VW Beetles they owned. Nigel owned a yellow Beetle named Buzby and Chris owned a blue Beetle called Blue. Together, they became Buzby and Blue. Sadly, they no longer have their VW Beetles, but the name lives on in their successful hairdressing business.

The big move…

In 1996 Buzby and Blue Hairdressing moved from their first salon in Oving Road, to their second salon in Eastgate Square, Chichester. Then in 2008, Buzby and Blue opened another salon in the old Eastgate Gallery.

The new Buzby and Blue Hornet salon was opened on the 3rd of October 2011. Inspired by places such as the Kennels at Goodwood, the new salon achieves a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere with sophisticated glamour. Chandeliers of epic proportions light the salon reception area with custom-made retail units. This then leads you into Chichester’s largest hair salon with over 30 cutting stations. There is even an additional salon, called the ‘Parkview Salon’, which is used for training, weddings and prom parties. Furthermore, we were lucky enough to also have a gorgeous outdoor courtyard area which our clients still enjoy in the summer months.

The Launch of Our Beauty Department

Back in Spring 2015, we saw the very exciting launch of our Beauty department! This consisted of four treatment rooms, a spray tan room and a manicure room. As a result, our Beauty department has gone from strength to strength, now offering treatments from semi-permanent make up to advanced facials.

We Launched Our Caci Synergy+ Service
To celebrate the launch of our Caci Synergy+ service, we hosted a launch party which was a great success. Each of our guests enjoyed nibbles, Prosecco and watched a live demo of this incredible service.

Buzby and Blue Beauty Was Born

Buzby & Blue Beauty opened, offering massages on our famous water beds. Alongside nails, spray-tans, facials and waxing

Our Hair Academy Opened
The Buzby and Blue Academy opened, producing the next generation of talented Stylists

The New Buzby & Blue Salon Opened
9th October, The new Buzby & Blue Hornet salon opened. Inspired by places such as The Kennels at Goodwood. The new salon achieves a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere with over 30 hairdressing chairs and an additional ‘Park View’ salon, used for weddings, proms and our Academy.
2007
The Hornet Was Born
We opened a second shop in Chichester. 11 The Hornet was born, increasing in size with another 11 hairdressing chairs.
1995
Our Move & Extension

We moved from Oving Road to Eastgate Square, where we extended through to make a larger salon in 2001, increasing the hairdressing chairs to 17.

1990
Buzby and Blue Opened

Nigel Faulkner & Christopher Friend opened the original salon on Oving Road. The name inspiration came from their VW Beetles. Nigel’s yellow Beetle named Buzby & Chris’s Blue Beetle named Blue. Together they became Buzby and Blue, opening with just 4 hairdressing chairs.
