What is Hiper-hydrosis and How Can we Treat it?

Hyperhidrosis (hi-pur-hi-droe-sis) is abnormally excessive sweating that’s not necessarily related to heat or exercise. You may sweat so much that it soaks through your clothes or drips off your hands. Besides disrupting normal daily activities, this type of heavy sweating can cause social anxiety and embarrassment.

How do You Treat Hyperhidrosis?

Botox injections use botulinum toxin to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. It does not cure Hyperhidrosis, but provides temporary relief.

Does Treatment Affect How Much You Sweat in General?

No it does not cause any problems to our overall sweating from our bodies.

What is The Processing of Treating Hyperhidrosis?

Initial consultation to assess your suitability for Botox treatment and complete a medical questionnaire. This initial consultation can be done over a zoom call. We will work together to manage expectations and discuss risks and aftercare. Time in this consultation to answer your questions and relieve any anxiety. A deposit it taken at the initial consultation and an appointment is arranged to return for treatment. (The deposit is deducted from treatment price). You will then attend your appointment for our agreed treatment plan.

What Causes Hyperhidrosis?

Although neurological, endocrine, infectious, and other systematic diseases can sometimes cause hyperhidrosis, most cases occur in people who are otherwise healthy. Heat and emotions may trigger hyperhidrosis in some, but many who suffer from hyperhidrosis sweat nearly all their waking hours, regardless of their mood or the weather.

Do I Need to do Any Home Preparation Prior to my Treatment?

Ideally shave 2-3 days before the appointment. If you would rather not shave then please trim the underarm hair.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?

The initial consultation takes 20-30 minutes and the treatment appointment takes approximately 45 minutes.

Is There Any Post-Treatment After Care?

We advise no deodorant to be used for the first 12 hours post-treatment. No use of abrasive washes for 12 hours. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, avoid massaging the area for 24 hours and avoid putting pressure on the area for 24 hours.

Are There Any Possible Side Effects?

You might experience some slight bruising in the area of treatment which will go away soon after.
